Hans Christensen, a long time Asia resident Danish entrepreneur, fashion and homewares designer, 
always dreamed of owning a restaurant. In 2003, he happened upon a beautiful, but sadly neglected, house in central Chiang Mai .When he learned it had been built in the 30's, by a fellow Dane, for the northern headquarters of the venerable "East Asiatic Company”, he knew that this had to be the place. After eight months of sensitive restoration, "THE HOUSE" restaurant and bar flung open its welcoming doors and a historic house was saved from dilapidation.
With its elegant, yet relaxed, atmosphere it has drawn a local and international clientèle of all ages ever since and, in these few years, it has grown into a kind of modern day salon with almost the feel of a private home.

In just 5 years, from one restaurant, THE HOUSE has evolved into a lifestyle compound open 7 days a week, 364 days a year ..........now  you can eat, drink, shop and mood hop at the following venues:
